The MOSSBERG 590-S is a variant of the 590 platform, redesigned to fire even the shortest shotgun shells with a case length of just 45mm (1.75″) . Of course, it also handles standard 70mm and 76mm cases without any problems. All case lengths within this range can be loaded and fired without modification, and the magazine can even be loaded with multiple case lengths simultaneously. Like all 590 models, it features dual extractors, dual guide rails, and the latest anti-jam loading port for smooth and reliable operation. A standard feature on the 590 is the tang safety, which can be operated by both right- and left-handed shooters. Furthermore, all Mossberg 590 models feature a steel-on-steel locking action , and the receiver is prepared for the mounting of optics or a Picatinny rail. The “Optic Ready” variant has an integrated Shield RMSc footprint, allowing for the direct mounting of compatible sights.
