Originally developed as a self-defense weapon, the Taurus 605 in .357 Magnum caliber sets standards in performance and reliability. The barrels are made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel. This safety device is commonly found in revolvers with a frame-integrated firing pin. Simply put, the hammer cannot strike the firing pin until the transfer bar is engaged, thus transferring the hammer’s impact to the firing pin. The transfer bar only engages between the hammer and firing pin when the trigger is fully pulled.
The Taurus 605 is ideally suited as a backup weapon. The .357 Magnum caliber offers ample energy reserves, the rubber grip provides a secure hold, and the dimensions are compact enough that the weapon does not get in the way when carried.
